So this isn't really a recipe, per se, but since I have an intense sweet tooth right now, and Patrick is trying really hard to keep me eating healthy, I want to share with you my favorite way of satisfying my sweet tooth. Now, granted, when I want I chocolate, this won't cut it, but for the most part, eating fruit salad curbs my sugar craving. I'm not really sure why eating fruit salad is more satisfying than eating a single kind of fruit, but for some reason it seems more like dessert this way. You've got to go with whatever is in season, but my favorites are pineapple, strawberries, and mango. I also like kiwi, blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. The only canned fruit I use is mandarin oranges, but since they only seem to come packed in light syrup, I always drain them and rinse them in cold water before adding them to the mix. Sometimes I eat my fruit with vanilla yogurt, and if I have it at breakfast, I also add granola. But for the most part, I just like it plain. Be sure to wash all your fruit thoroughly!
Fruit Salad
- 1 lb strawberries, cut into quarters
- 1 pint blackberries
- 1 pint blueberries
- 1 whole pineapple, cut into chunks.
- 1 can mandarin oranges, drained and rinsed
Add all your fruits.
Stir to mix.
Serve. So easy and yet so delicious!
